With the holiday season just around the corner, your credit union would like to share with you some personal parking lot safety tips:

• Be alert and aware.
• Park in well-lighted and highly visible areas.
• Remember where you parked so you don't have to wander around looking for your car.
• Always keep your doors locked, whether you're driving or parking.
• If possible, walk to and from your car with a companion.
• Use assertive body language. Keep your head up when walking and look confident.
• Don't carry lots packages at one time. This makes you an easy target.
• Carry your purse or wallet close to your body - if possible, in front of you.
• Have car keys in hand and ready to unlock your door as soon as you get to your car.
• Never put packages or your purse on top of the car when loading other items.
